You probably signed up for news about Northpyre (I’ll get to Northpyre in a moment).
But a lot has happened.
In July, I debuted Northpyre: Self in print at Ropecon. It was a success – enough sales at the con to be sustainable, and distribution through Pelikrypta.
I also launched the studio homepage: mesolitgames.com
That’s where you’ll find current releases, upcoming games, and the embedded newsletter.
I’m currently working on three new games, all scheduled for release (print + PDF) next summer:
Laser Dinosaur Cavalry. One night pulp action – muscular heroes punching Nazi robots! Lasers, dinosaurs, explosions! Loud, fast, tactical.
The Moon is an Annoyance. A hard sci-fi microgame about a disaster on the lunar surface. Over a dozen scientifically grounded ways to die in space!
Northpyre: Council. Another microgame in the Northpyre line – tense intertribal negotiations, a political powder keg of conflicting wants and misunderstandings in the stone age.
Through all this, the studio’s identity has crystallized:
Mesolit Games makes games nobody else makes.
Sharp ideas, playable execution, and formats that fit. Compact, precise, and unapologetically original. Not because I want to be quirky for the sake of being quirky, but because there are so many games that could exist and deserve to, but don’t.
I am still working on Northpyre (the full big game) in the background, too, but I want it to be as good as it deserves to be. That’s going to be much easier when the studio is more established. In the meantime, I want to keep releasing new games that I think are worth your time.
Northpyre: Self has exited its free launch period.
It’s now available as a $2 PDF on itch.io: mesolitgames.itch.io/northpyre-self
And as a €4 premium print at Pelikrypta: pelikrypta.fi/products/northpyre
More soon. Until then, the catalog begins here: mesolitgames.com/games
